Back in the day most software was created to bring progress and innovation, improve the standard of living, open up new possibilities - the main driving factor behind its development was the intention to make people’s lives easier. But times have changed; the world of software is more commercialized than ever, tempting developers to abandon noble values in favor of the blind pursuit of the profit. As a consequence, it’s getting harder to find software that does its job well while being non-commercial and professionally written at the same time. Edensoft Apps was founded to counter that concerning trend by creating software with classic values in mind and the belief that software should be designed to serve its users, thus giving them a reason to consider supporting its creator.

Nowadays, software rarely gives its users the feeling of satisfaction, and definitely not as often as it frustrates them. Poor support, lack of innovation, slow bugfixing, not listening to the user’s complaints and needs - these issues are plaguing modern software projects. Many developers don’t seem to have a clear vision of what they want to achieve, they lack passion, they lack ideals, they don’t genuinely strive for the user’s satisfaction. We at Edensoft Apps want to show through our work how important it is to be passionate about what you do in life. For us, making software is not just a job - it’s a mission. We understand the impact software has on the world, and we are determined to carefully craft our programs with high regard to the users’ point of view.

The role of software is to make the best use of hardware in order to perform desired tasks as well as possible. But when greed comes into play, developers ruin software by making it deviate from said role to maximize its profitability - which stalls progress and certainly doesn’t help make the world a better place. We at Edensoft Apps find such practices unacceptable, because we want software to raise the baseline of possibilities easily accessible to everyone. That’s why all programs made by our team are (and will always be) free and as functional as we can make them.

Edensoft Apps is more than “just a group of hobbyists working after hours on some pet projects”. We are here to actually make a change in the world, so “working after hours” is a bit slow for that! We adopted the crowdfunded model to leave the decision whether we continue carrying out our mission in the long run or not - to you, while keeping all of our projects out of the “software monetization craze” (see detailed explanation HERE).
